  1. Is Encyclomedia Networks an advertising agency?

Yes. However, the main difference in the business model between a conventional mainline agency and us is that we do not sell our creative and designs and that always remains the property of Encyclomedia Networks. We only charge for the finished product.

  2. Does Encyclomedia Networks supply to agencies?

Though there have been instances in the past where certain services are supplied to other creative agencies, it is not the preference. We do however work with media buying agencies who recommend our creative and production to their clients as part of the media plan because they believe that we add a lot of value to the campaign in terms of results and effectiveness.

  3. What are the different media that we can service?

We create and produce for all conventional media including TV, Press, Radio, Out of Home, Point of Sale, and also new technology media like digital billboards, in-tunnel subway advertising, floor projection and 3D projection.

  4. Does Encyclomedia Networks buy media as well?

No. Our services are restricted to strategy, design, production and delivery of the finished product. We do not buy any media on behalf of the client.

  6. Are the finished graphics ‘3D’ prints?

No. Though our output is perceived to be ‘3D’, they are not 3 dimensional. The printed graphics are flat prints on conventional media and not to be confused with 3D technologies like Lenticulars, Holograms, 3D Projection, etc. Though most of our work has an enhanced effect, the core service is the strategy and creative thought and not the effect.

  7. What are the options if one wishes to represent Encyclomedia Networks?

There are 3 options to represent us: Non-exclusive distribution In this form of agreement, your company is free to sell and promote our products in your country. Once you have an order for a product, you can place the order on us and we will dispatch the finished products to you. The prices are quoted once we know the type, size and quantity of the graphics. No marketing support is provided and orders are to be placed based on the rate cards provided. The rights to sell is terminated once we appoint an exclusive partner in your country and after that all orders are to be placed on the exclusive partner on terms agreed with them locally. Exclusive distribution Under this agreement, Encyclomedia provides the partner with all marketing and sales support including client references, sales leads originating from the particular country, presentations, samples and country visits to meet clients and train the sales team to generate business. There is a deposit to be paid for the exclusivity and to service the requirements of clients. This deposit is applied against future design requirements and to establish good faith relations. The deposit is non-refundable. However, the exclusive partner may order as many concept designs as necessary till such time that the deposit is over, after which the deposit will have to be replenished again. Joint Venture Under this form of agreement, the same support as an exclusive distributor is provided. Additionally, Encyclomedia provides all the strategy, creative and design and the partner takes care of marketing, client servicing and business development. Encyclomedia will not be a shareholder in the partner company but will lend its brand name, experience and goodwill to the partner. In addition, Encyclomedia will assist in setting up production through local qualified printers and provide the technical know-how and support to the printer to deliver a cost effective yet quality end product to the clients. The profits are split in equal ratio between the cost and the end-selling price to the client. Detailed terms and conditions for this agreement will be discussed with the interested partner as it involves certain understandings and agreements on commercial transactions.

  8. Does Encyclomedia have a patent for its products & services?

No. Encyclomedia’s product is the idea and the creative produced using conventional printing machines, which is different for every client and every campaign. Similar to the way conventional agencies’ ideas and services do not fall under patents.

  9. Is there a proprietary technology used by Encyclomedia?

No. Encyclomedia does not posess any proprietary print or design technologies.

  12. Does Encyclomedia supply direct to clients?

Yes. In countries where Encyclomedia is not represented, we can supply products and services directly to the client and through our nearest regional partner.

  13. What are the processes involved in executing a campaign?

We design all and print all of our work. The design & print is factored into the price. Once you confirm a campaign with us, for eg. A Window graphic or a billboard campaign - you will need to confirm the quantities and size required or share the client media plan with us. We will also need all high res art files like client logo, product, etc. (if needed). Once all is clear we then photograph the product or use the provided photos and design the initial concepts (2) for you and submit to you for approval. These are jpeg images sent to you. Once the approval on the concept is received, we then move to final art phase and go into the detailing of the design and make any modifications/corrections needed. Once we get your sign off on the final art we move to production phase and prepare the art for print. A typical design, production and delivery timeline is 25 days but can be sooner if client approvals are received fast. It is important for you to note here that we specialize in high impact creative and since that is our forte, we must insist on giving us complete 'creative freedom' to design as we know from experience how to create a high impact campaign. In certain cases, we would drop a project as we would not like our product to go into the market that is not effective as it would not be in the best long term interest of our business to have a sub-standard creative product from our stables into the market. We will of course design meeting all client brand guidelines intact.

  14. Does Encyclomedia sell the designs?

No. Since we do not charge for the creative and the designs, the design always remains the property of Encyclomedia.

  16. What is the reason for Encyclomedia not selling the designs?

We are committed to quality. The design is only as good as the quality of the printing. Our artworks rely heavily on the fine shadows that generate the depth when viewed, and the finer the shadows, the better the depth. It is for this reason that we use a minimum of 6 colour printing, and mostly 8 colours, depending on the visual, to get the best reproduction. Even though the final product application for an outdoor print where viewing distance is long, we print at high resolution mode (normally used for indoor short viewing distance). This ensures that all details come out sharp, and depth is maintained in the visual. The other factor that is critical for good reproduction is the quality of the banner flex. Normally billboards are printed with low cost 10 oz and even 8 oz flex - they normally have scrim lines, and are coarse, but this has sufficed for normal billboard campaigns which are short term, For our artworks, we need a smooth surface for the print details to come out even, and therefore we cannot use the normal banner flex, and we use a special 13 oz banner flex which has a smooth surface, and is suitable for this application. These factors of print quality and flex quality and the process of printing are critical to our artworks, and no compromise in this is advisable. However, when done well, they become landmark signage, and make it all worthwhile! The same applies to our other graphics like floors and windows as well.
